 Clinical Nutrition & Naturopathy

About Margeaux

Clinical Nutritionist & Naturopath in Brisbane

Naturopathy & Nutritional Medicine has been used as a form of healthcare for thousands of years. The aim is to address the cause/s affecting poor health, and then restore optimal function utilising what Mother Nature has provided us.

Modern day Clinical Nutrition & Naturopathy is especially powerful now we can
use evidence based medicines to treat specific conditions, and follow the progress and outcome using functional pathology as needed.

Margeaux utilises a combination of old and new Naturopathic Principles to her practice. The evaluation of the individual is key, as is the education of that person so they have the knowledge to take care of themselves for the future.

Whole health goes beyond physical signs and symptoms, which is why Margeaux assesses individual lifestyle factors to provide a referral to the appropriate healthcare professional as required.

A key difference in Margeaux's approach to healthcare is looking 'upstream'. In particular, how does the food and food products we consume, affect how our cellular health? If any disease is present in the body, it starts in the cell.

This relatively new area of science is called Nutrigenomic Medicine and literally translates to 'food talking to your genes'.
Nutrigenomic Medicine is changing the services we can provide to chronically ill individuals, and to those who are seeking preventative medicine for long-term health.

In 2019, Margeaux undertook professional education to become a G.E.M.M Accredited Practitioner (
Gut Ecology and Metabolic Modulation). G.E.M.M is a Nutrigenomic centered clinical protocol, developed after years of research by Dr Christine Houghton PhD, B.Sc.(Biochem.), Grad.Dip.Hum.Nutr., R.Nutr.  into the complexities of cell biology, immunology and microbiology.

Since this training, Margeaux has helped many individuals repair years of gut-immune dysfunction and conditions underpinned by oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. After seeing this protocol help so many different health conditions, Margeaux now has the honour of working alongside Dr Christine Houghton at Cell-Logic as a Clinician Educator. This role allows Margeaux to support other clinicians as they implement G.E.M.M with their own patients', and to develop supporting educational materials to aid their clinical practice.

Margeaux is currently studying Foundations in Nutrigenomics at Dr Yael Joffe's education centre: 3x4 Genetics, to continue improving her knowledge on how food impacts cellular health and gene expression in clinical conditions.

Margeaux is based in Brisbane and is available to help with all health issues, with a special interest in gut-immune dysfunction and women's health.
